Expansion of Business in Europe via Capital Tie-up through German Subsidiary itelligence AG

NTT DATA Corporation ("NTT DATA"; President and CEO: Toru Yamashita; Head office: Koto-ku, Tokyo) has acquired 51 percent of the shares of SAPCON, a.s. ("SAPCON"; Chairman of the Board: Rajmund Pavla; Head Office: Brno, Czech Republic) through NTT DATA's German subsidiary itelligence AG ("itelligence"; CEO: Herbert Vogel; Head office: Bielefeld, Germany). NTT DATA acquired 72.9 percent of the shares of Cirquent GmbH ("Cirquent"; CEO: Peter Broicher; Head office: Munich, Germany), an IT consulting company from BMW AG ("BMW"; Chairman of the Board of Management: Dr. -Ing. Norbert Reithofer; Head office: Munich, Germany) on October 1st this year. As a result of these two capital tie-ups, NTT DATA now boasts a fleet of about 2,800 employees in Europe and will further expand its business in the region.
The business performance of itelligence continues to be strong this year, and the capital tie-up will accelerate itelligence's growth in the following ways. Through the tie-up, itelligence will gain experienced and talented human resources as well as expertise in SAPCON's business areas of consulting and implementation related to SAP and document management systems. Moreover, the tie-up will strengthen itelligence's support services, including local development of information systems for global industrial, energy and telecommunications companies in the Czech market. It will also foster synergy and the expansion of itelligence's business into Eastern Europe, including Slovakia, Romania, and Bulgaria.
NTT DATA will provide high-quality IT support both within the European region and on a global basis to NTT DATA Group customers. Moreover, NTT DATA will advance a global delivery model that includes not only itelligence, Cirquent, and the NTT DATA Group but also the NTT Group.
